How I Deal with Stress

Have you ever experienced that night when you're struggling with overflowing work that makes you procrastinate? You can't sleep because it's not done yet. All you can do is to touch it one by one and all you need to do is to finish it before the day ends. But, all you do is to stare at it like it's going to move on its own. Seriously? And when you wake up in the morning, that pile of paper says hi to you. Isn't it just a little too overwhelming?

I am not the kind of person who sleep late at night just to finish my tasks. I usually do it ahead of time. Once it's given to me, I'll make it a point that I'll do it already. I do not wait for the "right time" to do it. I hate cramming. But just this year, everything turned around. I crammed. I procrastinate. Sometimes, I don't even sleep. At first, I don't really believe that there's such thing as hell week. Because of one film production and thesis thingy and oh, organization responsibilities, I was trapped in the so-called hell week. Perks of being a graduating student, I guess.
The result? STRESSED ME.
What I do to deal with stress:
  • Eat
  • Sleep (even if it seems a bit impossible)
  • Eat again
  • Watch my favorite TV show
  • Talk to people I love
  • Surround myself with great things... and friends, too
  • Take everything slow
  • Think good thoughts. This is what keeps me going.
  • Smile


In times of being trapped in an overwhelming emotion (situation perhaps), it is very important to slow down and rest for a while to keep your mind calm. Thinking of good thoughts also helps. Nothing beats optimism. I'm sure of that! At the end of the day, all we have to do is smile and everything will be alright. Keeping yourself in the middle of positive thoughts will keep you moving forward with a happy face.

  23. I feel that sleep is really hard when I'm feeling stress out.. I can't eat too.. Lucky you. I think not thinking about it helps but it doesn't help in long term. xx,
