Just reading the title, perhaps many of you would already cringe to the thought of it 'cause seriously, who would wear a coat in the Philippine heat?
But, why not? Can't you really?
If you're a fan of four seasons and residing in a tropical country like me, most probably you'd be dying to wear coats, too. Aside from being a staple in the winter closet, coats are fashion statements. So, wearing this in the Philippine weather may not be too forgiving, right? But that doesn't mean it's a no-go. You just have to know the right pieces to pair with your coat.
What I did here is I paired my pastel blue coat with a white tank top and powder blue trousers. You see the combination? Everything is in light colors.
Quick guide to pull off a coat outfit in the Philippines:
- Choose a light fabric coat
- Wear a sleeveless, tank top or any thin tops that you could wear underneath
- Pair it with a skirt or in this case, a light-colored trousers
- Choose the colors wisely. The lighter your clothes are, the more you'll feel at ease

There's always excitement when it comes to dressing up for your trip but before you hit your destination, the first place you're headed to is the airport.
While there's nothing wrong with dressing to the nines, it's important to keep in mind that comfort is key. Of course, you don't want to hassle yourself when taking off all your dangling accessories to pass the airport security, right?
If your clothes prevent you from getting past security swiftly, booking in at your gate, and sitting comfortably for your three- or 16-hour flight, you've got to rethink. Obviously, if you have the benefit of fractional jet ownership, this won't be a problem for you. However, if you are traveling economy you will want to avoid delaying yourself (and others), so need to wear the comfiest yet stylish pieces.
Here, I wore an oversized top that I got from Korea and paired it with an A-line denim skirt. As for my shoes, I wore a pair of white rubber shoes so I can run whenever I need to. Kidding aside, this is so I could endure the long walks and hours of standing in line.
