Great Things Take Time

Sometimes, life is about risking everything for a dream no one can see but you.

At seven, my relatives asked me what I want to be when I grow up and I said proudly with excitement, A Doctor! At ten, I always ask for colored pencils and a sketch pad, trying to design clothes and houses. At twelve, my teacher asked us to draw in a blank sheet of paper what we want to be in the future, and I can still remember myself, drawing a professional-looking woman holding a microphone and a notepad in front of a camera. At sixteen, my friends asked me what course I'll be taking in college and I said uncertainly, uhm, I like to cook, but really don't know how.

I really had a baffled mind growing up. Whenever someone asks me what I want to do in the future, I am always like ".....". But now, the question has changed to what do you want to do after college? There is a huge difference between the two. It's easier to hear someone asks what do you want to be in the future? than what do you want to do after college?

What do you want to be in the future? This is very easy to answer because you feel sure of what you really want to be. There go the assurance and confidence in you that make you answer that question with a chin up and proud voice because it's in the "future". Meaning, it's so much far from today. You feel sure of your answer because you think that there's a long way to go and that, you can prepare for the future.

What do you want to do after college? Your answer here depends on the course you're taking now, I guess. Of course you want them to see you in the field you chose. The problem is, there is no assurance. When you walk out in that classroom and face the real world, you have no idea of what's waiting for you there. Maybe the pressure is burning you up.

Back then, all I thought was my dream is to write for the number one teen magazine in the country. I want to create an impact on girls and inspire them to be the best they can be. Maybe I just forced myself to think it that way. I was overthinking what society might think of me. I am a scared little cat, afraid to step out of my comfort zone.

I realized, if I wouldn't get out of my shell, what will happen to me? What will happen to my dream? What will happen to my future? All my life (I think), I was struggling to make the best happen. I always want a perfect outcome of what I do. Who wouldn't be, right? And then, one day, my mind changed. My goals changed. And so are my dreams.

THE   IMPORTANT   PART ☺
Fast forward to the present. I am still holding my goal to inspire and change the lives of others, but this time, not just girls, teens maybe, young adults, or anyone of all ages. I've always wanted to be a scriptwriter, a storyteller. You know, writing those quotable quotes that are worthy to post, I WANT IT TO HAPPEN. I want my works to be used with hashtags, too. I want to put people in another world. But it won't be easy. It will never be. Great things take timeThere will always be bad times that will test you. There will always be people who will ignore you, reject you, and will hurt you. But if you keep on pushing for what you want and what you think is right, they will just follow you. You just have to believe that you can and they will believe in you, too.

With all these, I made a success! I know this seems to be too early for me to say that I already achieved one of my dreams, but really, I can still imagine the joy and tears I saw from the audience when they watched our film that is, written by me. The crowd was crazy! I'd have to tell you that, a writer's success depends on the viewers or readers. The moment they laugh, cry or feel happy and kilig and they felt what you want them to feel, that is the time a writer is fulfilled.

 KEEP  IN  MIND:
Each of us has different views on life. We have different dreams and we are eager to chase and fulfill those dreams. I know you want it now. I'm sure you want it badly. Maybe you want it more than pizza (Am I right? Am I? Haha!) but as life teaches us, we couldn't reach the top by skipping some steps. We have to go through everything, so take it slow. You'll get there somehow. Like what I've said, great things take time :)

Please don't hate me for my haggard looks above. I was tired that day and just really wanted to rest but can't keep myself from taking outfits shots, just because (you know what I mean). I wouldn't let the day pass without documenting what I wore haha!

NOVEMBER WISHLIST

And because another month starts, this calls for another wishlist to reward myself after a stressful month. I want to share with you the things I found online. Who knows, this might also help you to have some gift ideas to give to your friends now that Christmas is coming :)
  1. I've always wanted to buy a suede bowler hat before but when I saw this boater hat at Choies... Aaah! The feels.
  2. Oh boots! I'm a bit obsessed with boots nowadays. However, as much as I want to buy several pairs, I can't. And I should not. I don't wanna be broke haha! Calling the attention of my mom and dad! Maaa! Paaa! Hahaha!
  3. I'm always a fan of the fashion trends during the '80s and '90s. I can still remember my childhood days with jumpers and dungarees. But this overalls from Romwe is a different story. I think it's cool to have one like this.
  4. I'm not the kind of blogger who really likes to put makeup on, especially lip products. If there's one thing I hate putting on my face, it's lip-gloss. Well I used to hate lipsticks, too but when I tried to use one during one of our shoots, I feel like I need another one. When I found this cute lipstick from Zalora, I was hooked to it. I just love the color. I prefer light and more natural color of lipsticks than the darker ones.

  17. Inspiring post! I agree with you. We shouldn't compare our journey with that of others. We have different goals in life. We have different paths to take. We will get there somehow like other people did. We just have to wait and be patient. We will get there someday. It may take time, but for sure, we will get there. :)

  18. Great words Cielo! The amazing part into achieving our goals is mostly not the destination itself, it's the things we encountered on our journey to reaching the goal. Life is not about having what you want in an instant. Everything should be taken one step at a time :)

And, I love your outfit here! <3
